For as long as we’ve known, self-care has been seen as a practice “for women only,” but Young King is here to change the narrative. Simply put, self-care is meeting your basic needs because when you look good you feel good, both physically and mentally. That’s why we’re launching a year long campaign called Self-Care is King!
"Young King represents our belief that we can change the narrative of how the world sees Black and Brown boys, and Self Care is King is only the first chapter of this journey," said Cora Miller, Co-Founder & CEO. "Our young kings need to know the power that comes with embracing their authentic selves, which comes from self-love and taking pride in their self-care," said Stefan Miller, Co-Founder & CMO.
This campaign will highlight what is so often overlooked in society - we want to emphasize the importance of practicing self-care while shining a light on our Black and Brown young men. To help bring this to life, we are partnering with Atlanta-based influencers Kanan Hunt (TikTok content creator), Noah Kazeem-Riley (Tumbler), Lance Avery Brown (Actor), and Trey Newton (Actor/Model), better known as the "King Squad. With our new King Squad, we will show the world how black boy joy starts with self-care, leads to confidence and ends in greatness! It’s time to show that young kings are not to be played with.
As we gear up to change the game, be sure to follow us on Instagram at @youngkinghaircare to follow the ride. In the meantime, check out our new King Squad bundle that we’ve created to help young men start their self-care journey. It includes our best-selling hair products as well as our new skin care line plus FREE GIFTS! It’s the ultimate self-care bundle to unlock your inner King.
