Essential Oils
Saw an ad for Young King before my son was born. He just started getting hang time, so I was trying to keep it braided but I kept running into scalp irritation from the gels I was using to secure the braids. Red, flaky, dry, irritated, a few bumps. I tried to wash it and use a natural oil, but within 2 days his hair was back to being flaky. In my search for gentle black boy hair products, I came across YK again and immediately purchased because I’d already remembered seeing the ad and also- it’s incredibly hard to find boys hair care products! Everything smells incredible and works great! The oil is the star of the show! So many amazing oils in one! After the very first use, my son hasn’t had an irritated scalp since. It’s been 2-3 weeks so far, and I’ve only applied the oil to his scalp 3 times so far- still not one flake. It is very natural smelling and a tad potent, I will give a heads up- but it’s basically scalp medicine in a bottle.
Curling Cream
Originally purchased one bottle for my young king with kinky hair, but I found it works great on a middle-aged queen’s hair as well. I came back to purchase the 3-pack. This product leaves my coily hair moisturized and defined with a very light hold that I prefer. I get compliments on my curls often. On the kinky hair texture it works best when hair is freshly washed and conditioned.
