How to Make Wash Day Fun

How to Make Wash Day Fun

Maybe you can relate to many parents out there who dread wash day for their children.

Even with a young king, the process can be overwhelming when you’re trying to detangle all of his curls. You’ve also probably spent tons of time and money on products that simply don’t work well for his curls.

So what’s the solution?

Balancing it Out

While nourishment is key for thick, healthy curls, the amount of cleansing as a result of shampooing and conditioning is also an important piece to the puzzle.

When it comes to shampooing, 1-2 times a week, depending on hair type is recommended for your young king’s crown. This ensures that the hair isn’t drying out from excessive shampooing.

You can use conditioners immediately after shampooing for re-hydration. But just like shampooing, too much conditioning isn’t good for the hair.

Finding the Right Shampoo and Conditioner

In addition to finding the right balance of shampooing and conditioning, you’ll want to make sure you have a GOOD shampoo and conditioner at your fingertips.

Young King Hair Care’s Crown Wash Set saves you time and energy by adding bounce back into your child’s crown.

This set includes our Kids Shampoo and Kids Conditioner.

Our Kids Shampoo is perfect for cleansing and nourishing the hair and our Kids Conditioner does all the work of detangling, softening, and nourishing the hair for healthy curls. This conditioner is usually left in the hair for only 2-3 minutes before it’s rinsed out.

However, if you’re desiring to deep condition the hair, an additional 5-7 minutes is perfect! If you choose to deep condition, be sure not to do it more than twice a week.

This duo allows for smooth sailing into the rest of your styling regimen.

Add Some Excitement

Once you have the basics in place for a great wash day routine, add in a bit of excitement so your son will actually look forward to getting his hair washed.

For instance, get him involved in the process.

We love how Tobias Polk does this by taking us along on his Young King Hair Care routine.

You can also entertain him while you’re polishing up their curls like their favorite book, a television show, or their favorite tunes.

Wash day can be fun!

Just find a good balance in terms of when to wash and condition your curly-headed boy and grab the right products.

We hope these tips are helpful and excite you about your son’s next wash day.

We would love to know how your current wash day routine is going. Do you love it OR dread it?
